| The objectives of Fly.Simvol by Pacha Articles |

The creation of an association implies that it has a goal :
"to promote flight simulation software, to distribute it and manage an Internet site dedicated to its activities"
It also implies that it has short and medium term objectives and not long term ones as it's activities are based on volunteerism, that is to say on each member's free time which may vary as time goes by.
Fly.Simvol has been created during a constituent general assembly (in conformism with French law) which took place in Paris on December 13th, 2003.
You can download HERE the pdf file of the report of this congress 2003.
From Fly! II to Fly! Legacy
The simulator Fly! II is almost unfoundable. The ROTW maintained some developments for 6 years and released 2 DVD of addons. Given the refusal (we didn't receive any reply) from TRI to give us this simulator, and as starting point the initiative of Chris Wallace, the ROTW decided to create a complete simulator which will be named Fly! Legacy. This project is in progress for many years from now. During all these years, the developers of the ROTW (in particular Jean and Laurent) have gone through many periods of doubt and euphoria.
But... this is it ! Legacy will be released in this 2nd part of 2010 (the date is not public yet, surprise !).
Of course, it will be an "alpha" version which will be limited and will still have (for some time) some "dependencies" imposing to have Fly! II on his hard drive (in original version without patch). It will allow to test the simulator and will be the public base of the complete software. Besides, the ROTW hopes that this version will be attractive for all creators of addons who are passionate by flignt simulation.
Description of the "alpha" version of Fly! Legacy
All is said on the report of the congress
2009 of the ROTW except for some precise points:
- the release is planned on H2 2010
- the presence of Fly! II is still needed for the use of some librairies which have not been converted.
- the geographic area is the same as Fly! II (and not limited to the French Riviera)
As for the rest, please read this report and you will know everything.
So, stay tuned on our website and forum if you don't want to miss the "1st day" of Fly! Legacy (no, there will be no commemorative stamp).
