| Fly with AP under flight plan
with the Hawker 800XP by Paul Surgeon Articles |
Here is what Paul says about the procedure allowing to follow a flight plan with the Hawker's autopilot
"...
Don't use the "A" key to switch on the autopilot
1- Load a flight plan with the Fly! Flightplanner
2- Launch the simulation
3- Start Hawker
4- Switch on avionics without forgetting the n°1 EFIS
5- Put the FMC 1 on "ON" and confirm the pages until the flight plan is
displayed
6- Turn the buttons of the both EFIS on WPT (waypoint mode)
EFIS 1 must display the name of FMC (number 1)
containing the flight plan, the distance and the heading to the next waypoint
7- Switch on the autopilot (display the corresponding view below the panel)
in pushing the HDG and NAV buttons
8- Turn the HDG button of the panel to display a path which intercepts
this of the flight plan to the first waypoint
When the aircraft will be near of the planned
path the autopilot will shut down automatically the HDG function, intercept
and follow the programmed road (NAV function of the autopilot).
..."
Paul finishes by the following commentary I let you to read:
"This is still quite a rough guideline and it won't give you the
smoothest ride but you should get the idea."
