Articles

The situation evolved a lot: some time ago, after the FSS site closure, it was necessary to look for elements (sometimes some jpg not much legible) on "amateur" sites. Now, more and more States put, on well realized sites, free of charge information very complete and regularly updated, generally in high quality pdf format.
We are lucky to have at our disposal such elements, so here are the main sites; let us pay hommage to countries which agree to provide us this information free of charge, when the other ones still propose only not free catalogs.
It's a wonderful world :-))

Remarks

Africa

"Asecna". Very complete but some maps are in dwf format and legible only under Windows, what a shame! And when I say "legible", if somebody knows how to use the zoom, please write us.
Fortunately, majority ones are in pdf format, whew !
Coverage: Central and Western Africa, Madagascar.

Australia

"airservicesaustralia.com". Very complete and very well realized.
Regular updates.

Brazil

"decea.gov.br". This site is closed (December, 2004).

Denmark

"www.slv.dk". Very complete, IFR and VFR maps (medium quality, but readable). Denmark, Greenland and Faeroe Islands are covered.

Espana / Spain

"ais.aena.es", go to the "AIP" heading. Very complete and very well realized. Regular updates.

"DIRCAM", official military organism, completing the elements of the SIA : particularly military airports, and intersting charts and documentation.
It includes some African airports and some "operational zones" (Sarajevo, Djibouti).

Hong Kong

"hkatc.gov.hk". Incredibly complete for a country with a restricted surface. No info is missing !

Italie

"www.maltats.com". A small size country, but a very complete site, there is even a photo gallery.

United Kingdom

"ais.org.uk". Very complete.
Maps regularly updated.
Compulsory registration (free).

Slovenia

Site reorganized in Q2 2004, few elements, but very good quality.

USA

"myairplane.com" presents IFR approach plates for the USA; these can be downloaded either page by page, or for a whole airport.
Very well and perfectly updated.
On this site too, some VFR sectionals and terminal areas maps, but we found them difficult to be used.

Monde
The world

"digitalaero", Official maps from the American army, DAFIF tendency.
Strange names, so to find Nice, look for "C" as Côte d'Azur, well it's evident, no ? ;-).
On the other hand, very complete site, as example, the "VFR supplement for the USA" has 315 pages, it's an ex-tra-or-di-na-ry tool.
Regular updates.

official links given by the SIA

• a lot of interesting links provided by the Navdata site

• some complete links, for some worldwide sites, by Bob Andrepont, a simulation amateur from Louisiana, whose work we salute.
However, quite a lot of dead links.
