The Fayence (LFMF) airfield is located in the east of the departement of the Var, near the lake of Saint Cassien and not far from the city of Cannes.
It's renowned for its intense gliding activity, thanks to a very particular aerology: in summer, this flat open country, which extends until the city of Aix-en-Provence, knows high temperatures. Furthermore, it's located between various massifs: the Alps (more than 3,500 metres in the Mercantour), the PreAlps, the Esterel, the Maures. Finally the Mediterranean Sea is quite close. These characteristics generate climatic conditions very convenient to the gliding.

As all Thierry's creations, Fayence is a 3D scenery designed only with specific buildings.
It's a "daytime" scenery only as this airfield isn't lit a night. Display remains fluid in spite of the quality of this scenery, which is a marvel of precision: accurately reconstituted buildings, planes (numerous gliders naturally, with their trailers), accessories, and even the soccer field is there.

For those who have already installed the TJ's magnificent 2D scenery called "004_162_sud-Cannes" (we can consider it as essential), a small corrective allows to modify the Fayence runways texture. And, as to Bedarieux or the Versoud, a 2D texture replaces advantageously the Fly! grass runway. All explanations are in the "Readme" file, and it isn't too difficult to do (promise of beta-tester ;-).

The file Fayence-v1.zip also includes taxiways and a dex file to update the file runway.pod. Naturally, the wind sock is of "mobile" type.

It isn't an easy airfield, because all 3 grass runways are only delimited by dotted lines and discreet markers, then it's necessary to find your marks. Thus all the pilots desirous of progressing will have great pleasure in training on this airfield!

We did some photos with the DC3 because one of these beautiful aircraft recently made a visit at Fayence. Thus it's possible to land and takeoff at Fayence with a such plane, however, because of short runways, it'll be necessary to go to this airfield with half-full tanks!
