At first sight, it's a mountain airfield ! It's not false, but, if we rise a little (see below the commented image) we quickly notice that we're in a "French Riviera" environment, near all these seaside resorts which make the reputation of this magnificent coast: Sainte- Maxime, Saint-Tropez (15 km as the crow flies), Cavalaire, Le Lavandou...
But its situation, hidden in the heart of a small valley in the Massif of the Moors, does of it an airfield protected from developers' appetite who have already get Fréjus and who have plans on Cannes, to quote only the most important ones.
It will be an excellent departure airfield to fly over our beautiful Mediterranean coast.

As usual, Thierry "amorously" concocted us every building, every hedge, every tree. All those who had the occasion to pass by LFTZ won't feel totally lost (even the flying club president's car is there).
Attention, considering its mountainous enclosing, the runway circuit is specific (refer to the SIA web site as indicated in the file Readme). Furthermore the side taxiway cannot be used, thus the only runway exit is the one near the tarmac (threshold 06). So one eighty is mandatory for the other runway threshold.
