Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle (LFPG) V1.01 - June 2007 |
The creation of this airport is with it all alone a whole story, and in the time a long story.
Indeed, it is a former of ROTW, Laurent Jarlegant who began the construction of the Roissy airport, several years ago. He had moreover provided his elements to TRI that allows him to be mentionned in the Fly! II credits.
He put it in abeyance in face of its complexity, and has been resumed several months later by Frédéric Mouflin who wasn't able to finish it.
In ROTW we are obstinate, it is known, we are slow, it is also known, but we like beautiful things, so we must do with that.
Doc, our national builder, after being warmed up with Terramodels, wished to start in the "hand-made". This project was on our shelves, he resumed it helped for that by Robert Morelli.
To manage, he must learn the creation of complex objects in 3D, sides texturing, colors handling and other thing again which do (in principle), the joy of "vulgum batissorum" (poetic joker !). Of course, he also used the classic objects libraries in Fly! like the one of Biber, ROTW and Terramodels. Certain buildings have been borrowed to our friends Thierry Pétris and Yves Pébayle. As you can see it, CDG is really what we can call a collective work.
The result is up to the granted efforts, the biggest French platform is now modelized in Fly! II, it is an unavoidable !
Here is the result !

Concerning the 2D scenery which serves as support to CDG, it is photorealistic and you will have no problem to find, Lognes, Le Bourget, and other Palaces of Versailles.
Here are two little parts, Roissy...
