Here's a new livery of this very common aircaft throughout the world. Honor to this magnificent creation rich in colours, from an airline today disappeared (after-effect of September 11th, 2001 or merciless commercial war ??).

Indeed, Air Littoral doesn't exist any more, but its planes are always in service at Airlinair. The ROTW basic version is also a former Air Littoral aircraft. That presented here flies still regularly, always with this magnificent drawing; only the reference to its former owner was erased. It was on the tarmac of Orly, next to F-GPYM and F-FPYC, on April 18th, 2005.

We made a little flight over Orly and Paris (here at 6,500 ft), only for eyes' pleasure. It's another very big success by our official painter, Leen "Flybike". And naturally, the aircraft registration was corrected on the instrument panel.

Fly!ers, wishing to embark on painting to give their ATR the colors of their favourite airline, have appealed Leen to do something. So he supplies us with a "repaint kit" specific to the ATR. The example, above, is there to show what it looks from a "TV test card" type texture.

We look forward to seeing if it'll arouse some vocations.

Here's a new "airline" version for the ATR42: it's the Air Dolomiti one, main regional airline in the north of Italy.

You can see it over Perpignan and around Canigou. I don't know if this aircraft went there, but why not ?

Naturally, to be realistic, the registration number was modified as a consequence: it's the pilot reminder for radio communications. Inescapable !

It's really a magnificent livery ! "Chezz", now you showed us your expertise, do you have some other projects ?

The "Santa Barbara Airlines" repaint is a very attractive ATR42 livery. This young Venezuelan airline, born in 1996, started operations with two ATR42-320 airplanes. Its hub is located in Caracas. Its fleet includes DOUGLAS DC10-30 and BOEING 727-200 aircraft, and five ATR42-320 airplanes.

Just a little thing does not reflect the reality; Santa Barbara Airlines does not operate ATR42-500, but ATR42-320 (four blades propeller). The piloting is identical, only the noise and the fuel consumption are different.
Then, we willl not be too fussy !

This time, Mexico is to the fore with this beautiful livery made by Chris Wallace. He used the famous Leen's "repaint-kit", our "Flybike" (see above in this page).
Chris's choice was motivated as much for the livery as ... the aircraft registration: XA-TRI. Does it remind you anything ?

The result is very successful and we made it fly, for its certification trials, somewhere not far from the Italian border (let us not forget that the ATR is Franco-Italian !). If, in real world, we can measure the success of an airplane by the variety of its liveries, it's the same in simulation. The ATR got off to a good start ! Will it exceed the P51 Mustang (11 liveries known on Simvol) ?

Eurowings is a German domestic airline which often operates the Lufthansa's internal lines (it seems that, in Germany as in France, the former national airlines' monopoly continues). Below, the virtual model met the real one on a wet tarmac.

So, here is this aircraft in flight over Zurich. The ATR is a beautiful plane. It was sold well throughout the world, especially the latest model ATR72-500.

In fact, it's the original livery created by Jean with the 3D model. And this livery was used by testers during all test flights.
And why not to have diffused it with the aircraft of origin ?
Simply because Air Wales doesn't operate ATR42 model 500, but only models 300 (4 blades propellers). For the official release, we agreed with Jean and Leen that an existing version of ATR42-500 was mandatory.

But this livery is beautiful and I know that Jean likes it. Then we distorted a little the truth or, perhaps, we anticipated (who knows if Air Wales isn't going to operate it ?); and we decided to make it available to everybody. I hope that you won't hold a grudge against us for that. So here is the G-WLXX (registration number entirely imaginary) in flight over the ROTW's Village and its neighbourhood. The plane is delivered in V5 (but without all the documentation). And, if you are observers, you will see that the author is not totally unknown.

This livery for this Air Dolomiti ATR may seem unusual; but, further to a trade agreement with the Italian stylist "Fendi", the Italian airline repainted one of its planes in his colours and logo.
We can make everything with a pot of painting, especially in aeronautics. Anyway, this aircraft doesn't pass unnoticed.

With an average age of approximately six years, CSA Czech Airlines has one of the newest fleets in the world. Naturally its hub is in Prague, and it's part of the Sky Team alliance (created by the Air France group). These ATRs are used for short-haul and domestic flights. It's a very attractive livery which well highlights the elegant lines of our turboprop.

This attractive livery does credit to a young African airline (created in 1988, privatized in 1997) which makes air links, as we can suspect it, in the southern part of this big continent. Its three ATRs make regular air links to one of the wonders of our planer Earth: the Victoria Falls (the Zambezi River). We are far from the epic flights in DC-3 that some of us knew not long ago! It's again a great job by Leen "Flybike", official painter to ROTW.

Leen continues to go towards Eastern Europe with, this time, the Rumanian Tarom Airline, newcomer in the "Sky Team" consortium. Originally (before 1954), it was the "CFRNA" airline (as Compagnie Franco-Roumaine de Navigation Aérienne (Franco-Rumanian Airline)). Among the 25 aircraft of its fleet, there are 7 ATR 42-500 as this one, offered today by the ROTW. In 2004, Tarom sold Rumanian internal flights for 10 euros! Mr Air France, what do you think of that?
