ROTW: Cessna 172 SP F-GBTX

by Leen de Jager (ROTW)
for Fly! II

At the request of Yves Pebayle, well known for his design of all type of refined airports for ROTW, Leen did repaint the Cessna 172 SP supplied with Fly! II to the colours of the "Hispano Suiza" Aero club where Yves is a member.

This club located near Pontoise was modelled for Fly! II. It was easy to go there to compare the work of Leen in front of the hangar where the plane is stored.

ROTW: Cessna 172 SP F-GPFA

by Jean Sabatier and Leen de Jager (ROTW)
for Fly! II

A new livery for a Cessna 172 SP, the F-GPFA, aircraft owned by the "AeroClub of Rennes Ille et Vilaine (ACRIV)", the club where "Pacha" is a member. The original aircraft is displayed above, so you may compare it with the very nice work of our colleagues from ROTW.

Unfortunately the plane was involved in a severe crash during a cross wind landing on the Rennes airfield. No casualties, but the plane is in bad state and may not be repaired. It is now stored in the hangar awaiting a decision about its future. It was only 4 years old, very young for an aircraft.

This should be a reminder that when flying we must remember the following 3 principles:
- do not believe that you may ignore the weather
- respect the aircraft published limits
- do not try to go over your own limits, the result may not be to good for any one on board.

If you really want to try extreme conditions, (exclusively on the simulator), take the Cessna 172 for a landing with a 25 kts fully sideway wind, flaps down, and good luck. If the flying characteristic of the TRI model is correct you could be assured of a crash if you don't have a great flying experience.
