Fly! II: all the cameras of every ROTW's aircraft loaded automatically (with flystart)

by Pierre Roth (ROTW)

That's true that one of the (rare) Fly! II fault, is it doesn't keep all in memory at every aircraft launching, and in particular the keys allocation for the different programmable cameras.
Pierre showed emotion and provides us here the necessary things to fix this anomaly by the DLL Flystart which must be absolutely present.

Here is what he said in his "Lisezmoi.txt":

"It is this dll which is provided here. Fly! II allows to program the F1 to F8 keys to have 8 different views accessible directly and at any moment during the flight.

Little reminder about the method to use to program these keys :

- Choose the view you want to save (inside or outside).
- In external view, define the orientation and the zoom (more or less distant).
- Make the keys combination : Maj-F1 (or F2 to F8). The view is saved !

The problem is that Fly! saves only one camera file : system/CAMERA.SAV. So, this programmation must be done again for every aircraft and for every Fly! launching. Moreover, for an unknown reason, an add-on avoids the saving of any modification. For that you must use an ORIGINAL Fly! version patched 2.5.240, install the aircraft whose we want to modify the camera file to create a new one. Then all you have to do is to EXIT Fly! and to rename the system/CAMERA.SAV file in xxxx.cam ! It's this .cam extension which is read by flyStart. Copy this file in the system folder of your usual Fly!.

This is the method I used to create these 28 files corresponding to 28 different aircraft used in Fly!. I made you the task easier, lucky devil ! In Fly!, you can of course modify one or several views to your convenience.

I made the choice of 4 inside views (F1 to F4) and 4 outside views (F5 to F8) for all.

Inside views (in the order of the pictures):
- F1 : The clearest for the external vision but with the main dials
- F2 to F4 : Scroll of the panel on the various navigation instruments.

Outside views (in the order of the pictures):
- F5 : View to the front of the aircraft.
- F6 : View to the back.
- F7 : View to the left.
- F8 : View to the right.

As these outside views follow the heading of the aircraft, they are very useful to find its way around during the runways tours for example, in particular : F7 (left) et F8 (right)".

NB: you will find very useful other information in the Readme file.
