A French ultralight, the Cordouan (V11) |

You may have known Gilles for his maps and textures... Now here is his first
plane !
To start his new career, he chose to model the Cordouan, a two "side by
side" seater ultralight built by the Mignet Company he is particularly
fond of. It is the latest evolution of a concept that began with the "Pou
du ciel" (Flying Flea) during the 1930s. One of these still flies at Rennes
(LFRN). The Cordouan has a cruise speed of 160 km/h and a range of 500 km thanks
to its 80 HP engine : not an average ultralight !
Gilles has done the inside views as well as the panel. Here is a view of the standard panel. Please bear in mind that only the 3/4 front and front views are available.
The flight model has been made by Frédéric and the results meet our expectations : an easy-to-fly aircraft which does not stall. You will notice that whole upper wing moves when you push or pull the stick. Full instructions are provided in a downloadable PDF manual.

With the Cordouan, we have discovered a new team of ROTW aircraft
builders. Let's hope they won't stop there.
ATTENTION: 04/02/2004 - new version with some
improvements (the ball is active now).
The "CordouanMAJ_V11.zip" file must be downloaded only for those who don't have the previous version and don't want to download again the aircraft completely. Else "Cordouan_V11.zip" file contains the update.

A "green-advertising" version of the Cordouan |

Once again it is a remarkable work which has been made by Leen on our little favorite ultralight. And, it exists really like that. Of course, the Leclerc family is known for his supermarkets, but it also the name of Britair's creator, aerial company dear to Breton hearts (who we know they do what he says goes in these pages, being almost forbidden of forum by people from south).

So a little flight over deep Britanny in broom in flower season, in dawn, in this aircraft which allows to taste quietly to the joys of the landscape, here is a great moment to don't miss.
