ROTW: Piper PA19, civilian Dutch version |

One the most great pleasure the creators have, after the downloads number of their realization, it is to see others conceptors seize it and remake it "a beauty".
Until now, the PA19, although having had an excellent "press" in its release, doesn't seem to be "relooked": it is made thanks to Leen who repainted us this beautiful aircraft and gave a registration of his country: PH-WAP.
It is a very beautiful exterior and interior realization you must absolutely have in his collection.

ROTW: Piper PA19, military Dutch version |

Leen rewards us this time with a military version very successful interior and exterior. The flight characteristics are of course unchanged because this aircraft which has at Piper the term of L18C is well a PA19 (its "civilian" name).
Now you can fly on a 3rd model of PA19, is your linking, the R163 of the Dutch Air Army.

ROTW: Piper PA19, yellow "ALAT" military version |

Leen offers us a new military version also very successful interior and exterior. This model of L18C (became later the PA19) has been used during the Algeria War by the ALAT for the needs of the Foreign Legion. Aircraft of reconnaissance and servitude in the majority of the cases. It is possible that recalls memories to some.
A special thank to Jean Baruch (ROTW) for the photos and the documentation which allow to Leen to realize this beautiful "yellow bird".
Jean Sabatier has also brought detail improvements on this 3D model. And, don't hesitate to the turn of the owner around the glass roof, new details has been added by Leen.

ROTW: Piper PA19, "Zébulon" camouflage "ALAT" military version |

This model which is the exact replica of an aircraft which always flies because it belongs and has been restored by a collector which presents it in meetings and during concentrations of Piper J3 and other "Cub".
It is the owner himself which provides to Leen the photos which allow to realize this version which has also been used in Algeria.
We find the details of the "yellow bird" version and the seats have been remade to the real model's colors. Jean Sabatier has also modified the model so that the yellow and black strips can be painted on the ailerons.
After the proposed choice, how not to fly on the PA19/L18C and practise to drivings on the ground by crosswind (warning, over 10 kts, it is no longer assured !).

ROTW: Piper PA19, German military version |

Leen continues his European turn of the PA19 versions (L18C) with a visit in Germany where he found this rare bird (and well yellow) which is the AS-525.
Very beautiful realization which gives to this "private" collection a leader place concerning the number of versions for a light aircraft (6).
So, for a little turn in PA19 over lands and Nordic seas, some volunteers ?

ROTW: Piper L18C, Norwegian military version |

The fact is this Piper, in versions more or less identica to F-BOER, has really raged in many countries and more particularly in Europe (let on place by the American Army in the end of the last war for the majority). Leen, to whom nothing escapes, found this collection version in a Norwegian aero club. He wasn't able to resist to put it in his superb collection.
So, here we are always more in north with this hardwearing aircraft and so sympathetic to pilot.

ROTW: Piper L18C, Danish military version |

Here is a new "European military" version of L18C.
So, here we are always more in north with this hardwearing aircraft and so sympathetic to pilot. It seems that only France was the only country to do it a civilian version for aero club (our real PA19).
By the way, a curious way to wish the happy new year to collectors aviators: the France is going to forbid the flight of all the collection planes on account of... vigipirate plan !
After the nail files and other nail clippers, where is the safety ? But less there will be plabes, more airfields will be available to all the property developers: this would explain that ?

ROTW: Piper L18C, Belgian military version |

The tour of "European military" versions of L18C with this time, the Belgian Army with the honour.
So Fly! is on the way to become the greatest world collection, all simulators confused, of L18, J3, pipiercub and other PA19. With when the organization of a gathering of Piper like that exists at the owners of this superb aircraft.
By the way, Leen, in Megève (altiport well known of a very great ski sports resort of French Alps) there is a Piper (I don't know its exact type, but that can come to an agreement) which makes high altitude flights and which lands on superb snow fields of the Mont Blanc massif (so equipped of skis of course). So, if a day you can...

ROTW: Piper L18C, Israeli military version |

New version of L18C, this time ar the time of its use in the Israeli army.
This ninth version of this aircraft brings out the control more and more important of Leen in his work of repainting. Interiors, like exteriors, are done again from top to bottom giving in every aircraft a particular style which makes a different aircraft of the others. Even the keyring is adapted in every aircraft.
Ah, to kill two birds with one stone, the photo below has been taken during a flight over Jersey, the new scenery under realization of ROTW.
Good flights !

ROTW: Piper L18C, US Army version |

Return to the origins of the Piper L18C, with this US Army version.
Numerous armies had chosen the yellow color for this nice reconnaissance aircraft,
probably under the influence of the American army.
Very beautiful painting by Maître Leen with these old US marks used in the 50's.
What could be better than a naval base (even French) for a quiet flight (the Mistral did not join
us) with one plane of this type !

ROTW: Piper PA19, Megève's flying club version (F-BOUK) |

Here is a version of the PA19 (PA18 in fact for this livery) ended for a long time, but it was waiting for a modified instruments panel. This one being no more topical, we put into service this Piper with the usual instruments panel.
Leen has, as usual, polished up all details and made new colours for the internal views.
Here is a very beautiful view in approach at Mont Dauphin, the northern Alps are the favourite place for this
plane based in Megève. At the time of my last visit to this beautiful ski resort, the F-BOUK was not
there any more and was replaced with the F-BOOR below.
Ah, I nearly forgot, these planes are equipped with skis during winter (Megève's runway is frequently covered
with snow) and one of the great trips consists in landing, in altitude, on a field of deep snow. It is sporty
and impressive !
