Three alpine sceneries in photorealistic textures: Grenoble, Gap, Saint-Auban (Centre) |

The Alps are one of the ROTW airports and sceneries designers' favourite regions. So, here is a new version for the central part of this beautiful range of mountain. It covers the entire zone from Grenoble to Saint-Auban.
This scenery uses the new textures created by TJ (ROTW), even more realistic (yes, it's possible!). They have been applied to the SRTM elevations revised by the great master Béralex (ROTW). Of course!
New lighting effects were added to make the sun effect on the summits more
brilliant. With these new sceneries, the colourization reaches an unequalled level
in the simulation world. Check it!
Now, grassy runways have textures which seem "true", and not the usual Fly! deep green
rectangle. All aren't made yet, but have a look at Grenoble Le Versoud airport:

And to give you more pleasure when flying in these mountains, TJ had the good idea to install several grassy high-altitude landing strips (with the same textures as Le Versoud) and also on some snow-covered glaciers:

They aren't easy to find in visual flight (TJ gives all the coordinates in the file Readme) and you'll have some fun during landing and takeoff. The ROTW "POTW" online-flight team buckled down it during some memorable evenings: it was great! Remember this pic on the forum "Fly! - Vol en réseau"

In order to give you an idea of the number of landing strips included in these sceneries, here is a "radar" pic taken by an ROTW air-traffic controller:

Don't worry, TJ put into the zip files all the screen shots which will help
you to find these landing strips appreciated by the confirmed mountain pilots.
These new mountainous textures show off the Alpe d'Huez
hight-altitude airport created by Fred Mouflin.
This scenery covering three previous ones, you will have to download three
files plus Grenoble Le Versoud airport, which is described below.
You must remove the former versions and follow the TJ's indications concerning the installation
and the elevations. It's not difficult, you have to follow his step-by-step explanations.

Alpine airports: Grenoble Le Versoud (LFLG) |

Fully integrated into the above sceneries, here's the second Grenoble airport, "Le Versoud" (LFLG). It's well situated in a very beautiful valley and, as usually with Thierry, realized with photorealistic buildings. It's a sight for sore eyes, and an interesting departure point for visiting the high altitude landing strips (look at above in this page).
