Here is the Lyons part of the important work in which Roland engaged. If we believe long discussions seen on the forum dedicated to developers, the use of satellite images is no small matter.

Result has'nt turned out as well as it might have, places representation is superb and all "local people" will be pleased to fly over recognizable places with roads, forests, fields, lakes, rivers, cities and villages, industrial parks. Without forgetting, of course, airports !

The difficulty to carry out such sceneries covering great surfaces, lies in colouring. Roland indicates to us he worked at length on this subject without reaching a result which satisfied him fully. To go to beyond requires a very strong, professional, competence of a software like PhotoShop, including, as a preliminary, textures preparation that for the moment only TJ can make.
But... everyone wishes to reach this result and works for.

Apart from these technical wild imaginings, scenery is there and well there on Simvol for which it's a pleasure of putting it at your disposal in spite of the handicap of its size: 297 Mb zipped !
But, that's nothing ! Here is a picture of the result (corresponding to the aircraft position in the previous map).
