Gilles supplies us with the northern part of the region of Puivert
(half-tile 001-161 North). It is the fourth "globe tile"
out of the five ones intended to cover all this mountain range, which
naturally separates Spain from France.
(Refer to our recapitulative page "Pyrenees"
which includes all the zone).
Here, we are located between the quite close mountain and the big plain
where we can found the cities of Toulouse and Carcassonne. It is a very
hilly region, with numerous rivers, very convenient to VFR flight.
The eastern part is nearby the city of Perpignan, the Mediterranean Sea
and all Ponds (in French, "les étangs") which line it.
It is a ROTW members' teamwork:
- the basic colorization and the corresponding tutorial are supplied by
our "expert" TJ,
- Gilles "Drone" took charge of drawing details: rivers, cities,
railroads, night textures... and follows up the project,
- as usual, Béralex supplied the corrected "SRTM" elevations
which express marvellously the relief of this very hilly region,
- and finally, the runways and taxiways were modified by Azzurro.

The opposite map (click the image to enlarge it) gives us the detail of the localization. Airports included in this half-globe tile are: To be more realistic, some existing runways were modified, and
their taxiways were redone. To date, only the Carcassonne airport is the object of a 3D scenery. |

Below, the Puivert airfield, with its grassy runway (in the Seneca's
"sight "), is rather delicate. But even without 3D (for the
moment), it is interesting to practise, in the heart of its valley.

address.
NOTE: We shall never repeat it enough, it's necessary to read the explanatory files accompanying these Pyrenean sceneries because sometimes there are some modifications to be made in Fly! II directories, in particular you must remove the file "...\PYRE_SRTM\D001161_nord.pod" from the directory \...\scenery (and also the corresponding .scf file).
