Fly! II brought new files formats in many domains which obliged creators to start from zero. However TRI wanted to preserve all the same a part of the Fly! 1/2K existing in at least two domains: the .EPD files and files of 3D textures .BIN objects which are always usable. Henri gives you below informations which allow you to use better models created in .BIN: "Even if you are a fierce partisan of MLF, don't through away your old .BIN files in the trashcan, they can again served in Fly! II. In studying NYC_v1DA, (New York Hight Density 3D model scenery), I notice the author David Arrowsmith used .bin files, I do the same thing and that works !, you must take model on this work.
1- You must recover a .epd file from a scenery containing the .bin models and .raw and .act textures we want to use and place it in scenery\shared.
2- You must create the « yourname Models.mlf » file which lists the names of the models.bin, the one common which must appear in the catalogue and the corresponding flags. This file must be placed in Data. We can for example open with notepad the Factory.mlf file, replace the .mlf models by the .bin serie and rename.
3- Go in Fly! II, in your favorite airport, Ctrl+E, give access to the catalogue in which there is the common name and the image of the all .bin.
Your attention please, The models list can be incomplete (make tests with only one). I think it doesn't accept models with transparent windows (.opa). I think the fact to have also in the .epd the dataxxxxxx file has no importance but you must confirm it. If we have toto.bin and toton.bin, it is useless to list the second one, the night is made automatically, thank you TRI. I don't know if the .bin use has an effect on FPS. Many models of the factory.mlf eject you brutally from the program, you must save its building as you go along." |
