What is it ?

ATCsynth (Air Trafic Control Synthetic (voices)) is an air traffic simulator.

The objective of ATCsynth

ATCsynth will embellish your flights in VFR and IFR.

Why it was developped

To have finally a control in French. But also in 7 languages in total: of what satisfied a good part of the planet.

What does ATCsynth do ?

This new version 2, still in beta phase, brings as essential new feature : a VIRTUAL TRAFFIC entierely controlled in same time as your aircraft.

Following the example of the real situations lead you to wait on the stopping point at the controller request, if there is traffic in final. Moreover it will be sometimes hard to make a request as long as the traffic is intense !
In the current state of the development, only a virtual VFR traffic works, in other words the light aircraft. The IFR traffic with the bigger aircraft like the ATR is in progress but almost finalized.

In this actual version, we can only use it under XP and maybe Windows 2000.
You will able to choose men or women controllers with a variety of voices. This VFR control will be done during your takeoff or landing but also during a flying over in transit.

In IFR all the basic procedures are respected from the "clearance" request to the flight control in the respect of the frequencies attached in every airport and contained in COMM.POD ! Indeed ATCsynth uses all the available frequencies.

For example in Orly, you will take contact first with the delivery service of the clearance then with the ground, the tower, the departure and then the control in flight. Hey yes this is the hard reality of the piloting !

In the arrival, you will pass by the approach, the tower and the ground. Today only IFR procedures are managed, the axis used beiing chosen in function of the wind. You will have to take account it for your flight plan.

In comparison with the previous version, numerous improvements have been brought as much in IFR flight as VFR.
Here are several ones :
- the taking into account of the VFR report points at the arrival, in departure or in transit over an airport, this one is linked to the existence of a flight plan.
- the choice of an airfield for an unexpected landing or a transit was improved, in particular concerning the first contact with the airfield
- the taking into account of the transponder and the (alticoder) mode. The controller is very demanding, safety obliged !
- in IFR, an optimized follow-up of the arrival points with the respect of the report altitudes of the flight plan
- the possibility to finish with a radar control by vector
- the QDM request to a controller if you are lost !

The file in downloading contains all the necessary things for an use in English including the vocal synthesizer.
For the French language, the file is available on the French page of ATCsynth.

It will be necessary to install Squawkbox in its basic version, because ATCsynth use the flight models of this utility to be downloaded on Simvol. The flight plans of the "virtual" aircraft can be created with the version V150 of VolNav !
